Well 2014 certainly was a big year in the
real estate industry. We would argue that by far the biggest development in the
industry was the change in legislation to allow real estate sales professionals
to sign their forms electronically. This is a game changer.
The real estate transaction of yesterday
and even still today involves meeting a client, having them sign a
representation agreement, going to the office, researching properties, showing
the properties, making the offer, with each counter offer having to pull all
parties together to sign amendments, later the customer will need to waive off
on conditions and finally the deal closes…so much back and forth!
The deal of tomorrow is the digital deal!
The deal of tomorrow will see you setting up a new client on your tablet,
generating and signing your listing agreements electronically, researching
properties, negotiating offers electronically, and cutting an otherwise
multi-week, paper-filled process down to a few simple steps!
Digital document signing is what has and
will continue to set the stage for the digital deal, which is why we think
electronic forms in real estate was the biggest real estate industry
development in 2014.
What do you think the biggest real estate
industry development for 2014 was?
